For Willeke nature is a never ending source of wonder and joy. It forms in layers upon layers, and is shown by the changing of times. Time is a flowing thing, quick and slow, showing beings past, present and future . It communicates a feeling of other worlds, possibilities; Willeke tries to capture this in her work.

She uses found natural objects from her own environment, objects so common we often pass them unnoticed. Willeke shows the beauty and uniqueness of these pieces in innovative ways. 

The artist works with embroidered leaves, landscapes with ecoprinting and manipulates and dyes fabric.

Her work appeared in books and magazines and has been exhibited nationally and internationally.
