Jane graduated with a BA Hons in woven tapestry from Edinburgh College of Art (1991) and a Masters in ceramics from Sunderland University (2021)

Driven by a passion for the natural world, in particular the coastline, Jane creates contemporary work using traditional craft techniques.  Her practice involves spending long periods of time exploring and recording habitats.  Living on the NE coast has led to a fascination with industry and its complex relationship with the destruction, creation or rewilding of important natural areas. She is equally happy creating large colourful seaweed tapestries, 3D ceramics and textiles or botanical illustrative sketchbooks.
