Warwick, U.K

My work is inspired by considering the journey I am travelling – through life and my textile practice. I consider myself a ‘wayfaring artist’. Travelling through my work, combining prior knowledge with new exploration and experimentation. I allow myself to wander and enjoy the journey rather than considering the destination. As the work develops conclusions are realised.

Looking back along this path I realise that much of my work references memory; remembering; bearing witness; – to the people and places that have influenced my life and made me the person I am today.

I like to work with natural cloths and hand stitch, preferring to repurpose previously used items, embedding them with personal meanings. The slow, gradual process of building the work becomes a time for quiet thought and contemplation.

My current work is incorporating a range of other media including willow and porcelain.  This brings fresh challenges and opens the way for exciting new work. I cherish the freedom to express myself through my art.
