Catherina von Isenburg

London, U.K

Catherina spent her childhood growing up in other parts of the world where she gleaned lots of inspiration. She has fond memories of all the luscious and colourful fabrics she saw in India and walking around fishing villages in Singapore with her sketchbook busy drawing everything. This inspiration and drive to be creative was to continue with her in to her adult years. Having done a BA (Hons) in textiles at Winchester, Catherina was later to complete an MA in Children’s book illustration at the Anglia Ruskin in Cambridge where her love of fairytales and folklore was to come to the fore in her work. More recently Catherina has been incorporating ever present environmental issues in to her artistic practice. She enjoys the making process, favouring the unique and feeling that every stitch tells a story.
