Hannah Heys

Hannah is a formally educated Textile artist who has been honing her practice for the last 15 years, covering many disciplines, from Surface Pattern, design and illustration through to freehand machine and hand embroidery.
Producing contemporary pieces that not only question pre- conceived ideas of what Textiles art should be, but that also evoke a sense of positivity. Hannah is passionate about using her art for good, using empowering and uplifting themes throughout her work as well as environmentally friendly methods wherever possible.
Hannah’s illustrative style in the medium of textiles gives a contemporary edge to a traditional art form.

TEXTILE PRACTICE STATEMENT
Actively exhibiting across the UK, Hannah creates exhibition specific pieces as well as self led works promoting positivity.
Hannah’s pieces are created with a contemporary nod to this traditional art form, using a range of hand and machine stitched techniques along with ink painting and felt manipulation to best translate her designs (sketched out digitally or traditionally prior to stitching).
Works are available on Hannah’s website (www.hannahheys.com)
and through retailers inclusive of a range of greetings cards featuring embroidered work, cut paper patterned pieces and digital art as well as framed art prints of embroidered and digital work.
