Marilyn Hall

Marilyn is an artist working with textiles and mixed media and wherever possible she tries to work with natural materials as she finds them most sympathetic to her way of working.
Much of her recent work has taken the form of sculptural textile pieces. Marilyn’s current source of inspiration is a collection of old corsetry and associated items that have been donated following a call for corsets. This interest has grown over many years, building on a lifelong interest in historical costume and uses lifelong skills associated with a background in bridal design and dressmaking.
Marilyn likes to work with an open mind; thinking, looking and jotting, thereby allowing inspiration to seep in and play until gradually these ideas evolve and develop into pieces of work.
