Diana Bliss

Diana continues to explore the spiritual relationship between the individual and the earth through an internal and private landscape.
The discipline of Handstitch stills the human spirit and through patience and practice becomes a poem to a time we have all but lost, in the manner of the Slow Movement.

TEXTILE PRACTICE
Most recently the works concentrate on Handstitch and sometimes, but not always explore the practices of English Needlework techniques, and include the use of hand-dyed silks, linens and threads as part of the artisan handcraft. Photographic, sketch studies, nineteenth and twentieth century literary, Old English poetic and dialect texts are all, important references.
